when I was 16 years old, I could only speak Arabic, French, which is the case for us in my country. however, something happened and changed all that, it was the first session with MR EL GNAOUI the amazing English teacher at El kadi Ayad school. what makes me say that?
TEACHERS, WHO LOVE TEACHING TEACH PEOPLE TO LOVE LEARNING?
the way he explained things to us, made me fell in love with that language, I never believed in the idea of to fall in love at first sight until that moment and changed my mind , I studied hard to be the best student in English language, at least in my class, I thought that being good at school and getting very good marks was enough for me but later I found out it wasn't,why ??
when I had a conversation via Skype with an English native speaker, I said hello, how are you? what's your name etc, those common phrases that everyone can say , then I was stuck with that I didn't know what to do or to say, I couldn't handle that situation so I stopped the conversation, it's when all those questions came on my mind '' why I couldn't have a conversation with her ?? and my english was good enough to do it ?? what's happening ?? what's wrong ?? honestly I felt bad about it, but I started looking for answers ...
THE WAY TO SUccESS
I started searching on google, reading articles, reading books, asking people about the right way to learn English but there was no one to help, and all I got were just superfecial answers, like read a lot, or watch movies, those answers didn't help me at all, to be honest because I wasn't looking for a way to be an author, I was looking for how to be able to speak to people, and they can understand what I say so we can have a good conversation in English, after I tried so many ways and didn't work for me , I tried youtube, I didn't know what to type on youtube to get what I wanted, I remember it was just some ordinary phrases such as '' learn English'', be fluent in English '', so I watched so many videos, I failed the first day, the first week and the first month but I kept in my mind that '' hope is life ''.
that's exactly how it is, it's when I found A.J. Hoge channel, exactly where he talked about the process of learning English and his 7 magical rules, I called it magical because you really need to know it if you're serious about learning English and it will help you a lot, I guarantee you , I found out that the problem wasn't that I don't speak English, however it's because I do speak textbook English, not the real English that people use in their daily life.
WHEN THINGS GET CLEAR PUT SOME WORK ON IT AND TAKE ACTION.
I started learning real English and communicating with English people from different parts of the world, making mistakes and learning from it, I improved my level little by little, I practiced what I learned on a daily basis, after that I had so many successful conversations and made a lot of friends around the world.
I MADE IT
After more than 12 years I'm still enjoying to learn English, I created my own way to teach English'' the best one: learn real English and have fun'', and I found out that my passion is learning languages: French, Spanish, English, Russian, German.
I learned those languages with different levels, but I choose to be focused on just one, English which is the first love.
THE MORAL OF MY STORY:
our borders and obstacles can only do two things: one stop us in our track or two force us to get creative, however, if it's your passion it will force you to get more creative.
