I feel your pain ...

- I feel your pain :

A nurse escorted a tired and anxious young man to an older man's bed. "Your son is here," she murmured to the patient. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened. He was very sedated due to the pain of his heart attack and saw the young man standing in front of the oxygen tent.

He extended his hand and the young man wrapped his fingers around him, embracing encouraging news. The nurse brought a chair next to the bed. The young man sat there all night, holding the old man's hand and offering sweet words of hope. The sick man said nothing as he squeezed his son.

As dusk approached, the patient was dead. The young man put his lifeless hand on the bed and then went to the nurse.

While the nurse was doing what was needed, the young man waited. once she was done, the nurse began to say words of affection to the young man.

I'm sorry for your loss i...

But he interrupted her. "Who was this man?" He asked.

The surprised nurse replied: "I thought it was your father."

"No, he was not my dad," he replied. "I've never seen him in my life before."

"So, why you did not say something when I brought you to his bed ?" the nurse asked.

He replied: "I knew that he wanted to see his son, and his son was not here ... When I realized that he was so sick to know if it was his son, I knew how much he needed me.

Moral of the story: sometimes being too kind doesn't mean you're weak, it just means that you feel the pain of others.
